So forgive me if this is the wrong forum for asking about new construction ... building a place in the Pacific Northwest (Long, cold, snowy winters and hot summers.) and have gotten multiple quotes over the last few weeks.
13 Windows. The two windows I'm most concerned with are two Single Hung Two Wide 64" x 84" windows. I don't want them to be overly flimsy or to be too cold (one is in a 12x12 bedroom).
Alside (A581-80 Series): ~ $4,000
Coeur D'Alene Window Co: ~ $4,500
Milgard Styline: ~ $7,000
Andersen 100: ~ $7,500
Marvin Essentials: ~ $9,000
I haven't found much positive (or any) information on the Alside windows. I was leaning CDA or Milgard. I can't do a full 1/2 split sash with the Anderson 100, and the Marvin Essentials is pushing the top end of my budget ... if I felt like I would regret not increasing my budget I would do so.
The Milgard has the best U factor for the large windows at .25. The others are around .3.
I'll probably be in this house 5 - 8 years. Is Milgard Styline a flimsy window I'll regret in a few years ? I'd love some input. Thanks!

Unfortunately...we don't get the Milgard windows out here on the East Coast so I haven't seen any of their new offerings.
What was the DP number on the MIlgard. That should tell you a good bit about the frame and security of it.

Looking at the quotes I'm not able to find a DP rating ... is the PG rating similar ? PG: R-PG15 .
I've attached screenshots of the Marvin and Milgard details for the large windows.

Yes. DP = PG now. Tells me that I have been in this space for a long time now.

The Milgard unit is a vinyl window. Like the AW100 these have a pocket sill, BIG NO NO.
The Marvin window is a fiberglass window. Check the warranty on both
