Replacement Windows in Chicago

#1 Post by newbie630 »

Hi Guys.

I'm in the western burbs. I need to replace 3 2-Lite casements on the first floor, a 4-Lite casement in the family room and a Patio door. I have gotten couple of quotes from about 5 different installers:

HD - Simonton 6500. - $13,500
KHPP with Heat Mirror - $12,800
Airtite Windows - Sunrise. $15K
Local Installer - Provia Endure - $11,800
Local Installer - Advance Windows ~9,900

What do you guys think is the best quote/window combination. And/or is there an installer in Chicago that is top notch who I should be reaching out and get a quote for OKNA or some of these other brands that are mentioned in this forum?

Thanks for your help!

Sunrise, especially in their casement, is the nicest of that group.

I will get you and Okna reference.

Hi again

Got the quote for OKNA.

It’s the OKNA 700 Deluxe. - $18K

So given that, which one should I consider?

Please advise.

Installations all the same? In terms of product comparables...the Sunrise and the Okna are the most evenly matched and the quality leaders.

I think the Sunrise and OKNA installers are more reputable and solid companies.

So is the KHPP guy. The other two are installers from yelp.

I guess it sounds like Sunrise would be the way to go.

In the casement product space...it is a great window. If we were talking double hungs, I would lean more heavily on the Okna in that comparison, but the Sunrise casement is very nice.

Hi Eric,

Sorry to bug you again.

Do you have an installer you can recommend for Sunrise? I am not comfortable with the guys I was dealing with.

Thanks in advance!
