Hello, my parents recently decided to upgrade the windows to our home here in Vegas. We are replacing a total of 7 windows and 2 sliding glass doors. A "new" company has offered them a deal to change all 9 with Alside Climatech Elite to protect against UV.
After they've signed the contract (they don't do research unfortunately) they realized that only 3 of the windows need the UV protection and the others don't because we have plants (we want them to survive) and those windows are not directly in the sun so we don't need the UV protection.
Since the contract was somewhat recently signed, it gave us a little wiggle room to change our minds on the Climatech Elite on all the windows/sliders. We're considering opting in for the windows and sliding doors to be replaced with TG2 instead. I'm assuming since it's Alside windows they mean Climatech TG2?
Anyway, the sales rep got back to us and said we can make the adjustments to the TG2 but it'll cost about $635 more. I would think (being as I'm uneducated in the matter) the TG2 would be cheaper since it isn't filtering UV?
I'm trying to get as much information on both those before agreeing to the changes.
My parents already signed the contract and it's one of those they'll need to take pics of our house afterwards and see our electricity bill after a year deals. I believe the whole contract for all 9 was around $21K. Perhaps I'm being silly regarding the UV protection and our plants. Please let me know.
