Double glaze window replacement

#1 Post by Karl »

How do I remove the glazing strips from the fixed window in an aluminum frame so that I may remove the glass.

Most times it is easiest to start in a corner with a non-marring pick or larger flat blade screwdriver. Once you get the corner started and released from the lock, you can unzip it pretty simply at that point.

Have Alneco single hung,20 year.old about. Removal of the glaze strip not that easy. Is this a case where you must destroy the strip to remove it.

Not necessarily...but definitely more likely.

Make sure it is good and warm when you try to break it loose.

Is it an aluminum frame or a vinyl frame?
