replacement windows

I am new to the window scene, so I need help. I am cosidering LBL window and Sears. Is there any difference between the two besides the price. I can get LBL windows for half of what I would pay at SEars. I like the Sears presentation, but then I remember this is a salesman. One last thing, is there any advantages or disadvanteges with what Sears says about taking out the existing window frame or with using premolded cover(I forget the name that they call the piece that goes over the extisting window frames). One person told me that they don't take out the existing frames because they are connected inside my house to prevent rain from leaking in while SEars said this was a lie. Any answers would really help me decide what I should do.

Just some information on me: I am in CA and I have a medium range income. I don't plan on living in this house over 5 yrs.

LBL is a small window manufacturer in Troutdale Oregon. They make a decent window and use Micron extrusions, cardinal glass and are NFRC labeled. I use both systems for installation, but much prefer the cover up or flush fin method with aluminum replacements here in the wet northwest. I don't have to open up the wall and reseal the vapor barrier. There is no painting for you to do and no caulking to maintain. My installers are AAMA certified (window masters) and follow their professional guidelines for this type of installation. Hopes this helps.
