durability in differing climates.
What is the expected life of a "typical"
vinyl window frame ?

Vinly products have an unknown life expectancy which is scientifically predicted at hundreds to thousands of years. It's the rest of the window parts that you might want to be concerned with. As for a window frame, if it's mechanically fastened... the fastening system will give long before the vinyl. if it's fusion welded... see the above.
