I am shopping for replacement windows for my home which is 30 years old and has contractor aluminum windows.
I am wondering if vinyl or aluminum replacement is recommended for Louisiana. What should to warranties be and a recommended cost for replacement of 14 windows.
Please let me hear from you.

Go with the vinyl Rose. Good quality vinyl is not as costly and comes with life time warranties. Just make sure the installer replaces the complete window. I just purchased Simonton windows. 23 units with 37 windows for $10465. including sales tax and my installer contractor will install and replace wood frames and any rot for $6900.
These are casements and and several are quite large.
