Aluminum vesus vinyl replacement windows

We are trying to decide on a replacement window for our home in Nebraska. One type of window recommended to us is the Saint James Collection window (Hoosier Windows) but they are aluminum versus vinyl. Does anyone know anything about these windows? Any other recommendations?

I am not famliar with the aluminum brand that you mentioned, however the basics will still apply. The only advantage that aluminum may have of vinyl is that it is more stuructural. However the down side is that it is a conductor which means it is not thermaly efficent. Some commerial lines have thermally broken frames (exterior aluminum does not make contact with interior) they still have a negative R value! I would suggest that you look into a higher end Vinyl, or New Generation type UiPvc with fiberglass reinforcement. You will benifit by having a high performance window that will rival wood or aluminum structually..
