Weatherstrip for Schuco casement windows
A few of our Schuco casements leak around the top strip of weatherstrip. It looks like its taken a pretty good "set" to the closed shaped, and now that we've started opening and closing the windows for the season it no longer seals to the frame just enough that it will catch water cascadin...

With Schuco gone, who handles warranty?
I had a full house of Schuco windows installed about 5 yrs ago. They still perform great, I have no problems with them. But now with Schuco not in the US anymore, who handles the warranty? I bought them from a Schuco dealer, would I go back to them if I had any issues? What would the course of actio...

Wooden stop split, leading to water infiltration?
Recently noticed a musty/mildewy smell in our living room. Its happened before, a window high up on a stairway had a rotted exterior stop, led to water (and carpenter ant!) infiltration. Fixed the carpenter ant problem, fixed the wet/rotted sheathing, had the window and stops replaced. Same issue ag...

Re: Leaky Basement Hoppers - URGENT
The sump pump will help, Ive had similar issues especially when the ground is frozen but we get rain (i.e. late feb/early march). Water sits on the ground and eventually finds its way into the window well. The biggest fix, though, was taking out a few inches of dirt from the well area and replacing ...

Windows built backwards...useable?
Had 2 geometric shaped (READ: will only work one way!) windows ordered. They came in and the installer was here installing them when we noticed they were built backwards........the sloped sills ended up on the *inside* of the house. The windows got installed, just so we didnt have holes in the house...

Jeld-Wen ZF-S spacer?
Any idea if the ZF-S spacer in JeldWen windows is actually SuperSpacer?
I cant tell from looking, but the specs online show ZF-S as "silicone foam", which makes me think it might actually be SuperSpacer.
Thanks in advance.

Gutter leaf protectors question....
I know this was on the old board but I cant seem to find it (BTW, the Archive search is not functioning if anyone wants to fix it :) ) Someone asked about the various systems that cover your gutters and keep out leaves. One of the more frequent board members (Windows4U, maybe? I cant remember) menti...

How about glass? They said IGUs should be available too. I find that hard to believe if the plant closes (unless someone is interested in now buying the *whole* IGU process, including the spacer?) Are the hardware parts going to be available because they are made by a 3rd party? (Truth, right?) -Chris

Funny...I *just* bought a generic replacement cover last night. Will look into these custom versions (my window well is setup funky, the existing cover is almost perfectly flat to get underneath the siding overhang). Wish I could figure out what company makes my old cover......its really cracked at ...

Name that window!!! :)
Picked up a couple basement windows, not sure of the make/model. They were cheap and they fit, and they seem like better quality than Home Depot/Lowes stuff. They are supposedly vinyl, but they feel like some sort of fiberglass material.....the "plastic" is not shiny at all, and sorta has ...

Thanks for all the replies. Im glad to see Im not alone in the confusion that is now Schuco windows. I think Ill give my dealer a call just to see what they have in store (they are also a Four Seasons dealer, so Im kinda hoping that in the end even if my parts will end up as Four Seasons parts, at l...
