I'm very disappointed in these windows. I paid a fortune to replace all windows but the glass in these windows allows more cold to radiate through than the original ones with failing seals. I don't understand how these get such high reviews with such low quality glass. If I had to do it again I'd pick another brand.

I've had these windows over 3 years. They are excellent, seal very well, clean easily, tilt with ease and very sturdy. The impact on my energy bill was huge and immediate. Excellent price performer as well. I would put these in any house I own.

We had simonton 5500 windows installed in our whole house by a great contractor. After three years one top sash lost its integrity and fogged out. I notified simonton and they replaced the sash free of charge within three weeks. We would highley recomend their product to all P.S. I've been in the construction industry over 40 yrs and its great to see a manufacturer stand behind their product.

I had 24 Simmonton 5500 windows installed in April 2012 for $9,000. The installer came highly recommended and I made double sure that they were all level, square, plumb, etc. The installer was a perfectionist and I found no issues with the install. One or two of the widows seem to have more of a gap on the right side, especially after locking them, which pulls the window to the left. I verified with the supply company and the installer that this will not cause a problem. I actually took a hose and sprayed the windows from the outside to make sure no water could get in....they were tight, the gap just looked larger to me than I would like. So far the windows are FANTASTIC. We've had some heavy rain and wind storms since install and no problems. Sound reduction is great. Total cost of the project for 24 windows was $9,000. $227 per window plus $150 per window for install. This included insulation, which was non-expanding foam. I discussed the insulation with 3 different installers, all suggesting different methods (fiberglass, expanding foam, non-expanding foam). In the end the non-expanding foam seemed the right answer, it won't over-expand and warp windows. I would recommend interviewing as many contractors as you can. I talked to 3 and settled on the most intelligent, experienced, and expensive ($150 per window). The others were asking $100 per window, but didn't seem to have the same knowledge, so I paid more to get it done right the first time. I hope this helps the rest of you. I was ignorant about windows when I started, and these kind of reviews helped me ask the right questions.

First class operation. Showed up on time, did what he said he would do (and a bit more). Final cost was as promised in the estimate. Very consciencious, neat, knowledgeable, and totally trustworthy. I would hire Michael Bailey for any project with total confidence.
