Re: figuring out manufacturer of existing replacement window
I just bought a rental house and all the windows look to be in good condition but upon closer inspection, most of the clips that hold in the tops of the windows are broken. Once you unlock the windows, the tops fall out. I am responding to this original post because I believe it is the same window ...

Re: Best Sunroom windows
This one we just finished yesterday. We put in the OKNA double pane 2-lite sliders with picture windows mulled on the bottom. Re: Best Sunroom windows
The sliders were 43" inches wide. We left all the existing cedar 4x4's on this job because they were in good shape and plumb. We took out the 2x4 going across each opening and mulled the picture window to the 2-lite. We had to re-frame the opening for the door because it was only 36' wide. Most...

Re: Best Sunroom windows
We left the 4x4 posts and framed up from the concrete 3" and framed down on the header 3". The height of the sliders are 60" and the Picture Windows are 24" . We also ordered a 84" entry door to make it more even with the top of the windows. We usually order a full view entr...

Re: Best Sunroom windows
We usually use 2-lite sliders with full screens. We also been putting picture windows under the 2-lites to give more light. If they do replace with Pressure Treated Wood make sure no aluminum flashing comes in contact with it.Windows on Washington wrote:+1 to Randy and Buddy's comments.
Added protection might be a dam leg or sill pan under the PT sill.

I would also check out the Great Lakes Uniframe Euro Slider. I been installing this window since the 90's and have seen it go through many changes to perfect it over the years. Its one of the best tilt in sliders I have sold and installed.

Horrible job on the outside. I would have them pull the capping, put a 1x2 on the outside to extend the new capping so it covers that horrible caulking job and have them use clear silicone to seal the capping to the brick.

Elements is a very good window. Schuco is out of business in the replacement window industry.

LMAO!...a BBB report from a store who serves a state where EVERY home in the area was completely wiped off the map by Katrina. 5 years later...people are still trying to rebuild. So yes....I'm sure they have a lot of complaints in that state. With everything and every one. In looking over your post...
