The quote included capping, but no grids, and hauling off the old windows. A discount was also offered if we beat the Autumn Rush; the contractor claimed he wanted to encourage customers to get their jobs done soon, before everyone descended on him wanting new windows before the winter breezes blow....

The quote for 20 windows - 19 DH, one picture window (all double-pane) - was approx. $11,000. I did not ask the price on the triple-pane, just wanted to know where the pricing would start from. The cost included taking care of some rot in 3 or 4 of my current wood sills. Does that seem like a reason...

A number of people on this forum have mentioned the fine appearance of Schuco windows. Could any of you post a photo of one, perhaps along with a photo of another vinyl window for comparison?

Does anyone have experience with Soft-Lite's exterior foil laminates? How well do they hold up over time, in comparison with their vinyl exterior colors?
