Not yet, I wondered if that amount of leaking is normal.

sliding door cold leak
I have 2 Simonton 5500 sliding doors, both installed about one year ago. How much air should I expect to come in from the metal track that the door slides on that is exposed to the interior when the door is shut? This cold weather seems to be seeping in through in that track area. A very small draft...

I have Soft-lite Bainbridge windows throughout the rest of my house (happy with them) and would like to come close to the same soft white and try to have a thinner a muntin (?)...

Re: French Style Sliding Door
I am deciding between the Simonton 5500 and the Milgard french style doors. I am leaning towards the Simonton, my window guy thinks it's a better value and also has had some other customers like it.

Re: French Style Sliding Door
I will probably not get the wood interior, due to the cost, trying to get the look for less. The picture of the all vinyl interior on the softlite website shows mitered corners, similar to their windows. Are the mitered corners an aesthetic, or do they make a stronger joint?

French Style Sliding Door
I would like to replace my MD home's ancient sliding patio door with a French Style Sliding Door. I have it on good authority that the Andersen 400 series is a nice door (thanks WOW :) ) I love the look but am on a tight budget. I saw that Milgard made a vinyl French Style Door. Any recommendations?...

French Style Sliding Door
Although I'm asking about a door, I thought it was really closer to a giant sliding window. I got so much helpful info here, I thought I'd try again! I would like to replace my ancient Anderson sliding door with a fancier French Style Sliding door. I'm in MD and have the standard 6" - 6'8"...

Happy with Soft Lite Bainbridge
I have had my SoftLite Bainbridge Vinyl Double Hung windows for about a year. I am very happy with the look and performance of these windows. My Maryland house was noticeably warmer/cooler and quieter this past year. No leaks or any complaints. I chose the Bainbridge because of their thin profile, s...

Oh! That's disappointing. Guess I'm learning more than just windows on this board!Windows on Washington wrote:Unofficially or officially is the question. Checkbook ratings are usually the result of carefully placed reports by the "friends" or employees of the business being rated.

Re: Which Replacement Window Brands one should consider...
Consumer Checkbook has ratings on local firms... FYI, Consumer Checkbook is driven by advertising dollars of the firms that are represented in them. Oh, I was under the impression that they accepted no advertising and that the listed businesses were rated based on subscriber feedback. Do businesses...
