OKNA Bow Window Lites - How Much Vinyl In Between
I find it very difficult to verify online or at the OKNA website how much of the space between glass edges in a bow window would be taken up with the vinyl parts of the panels. I ran across a couple of photos online that appear to be at least 4 inches of vinyl between panels of glass but it would be...

Re: Would You Recommend Triple Panes in a Bow Window
Depends on the size, but if the manufacturer will make it, you should be fine. Most manufacturers are well aware of what their operational limits are and will stay within them to avoid any service failures down the road. Eric, I sent you a private email a while ago. I hope your email address is sti...

Would You Recommend Triple Panes in a Bow Window
So I am wondering about the weight factor of heavy triple panes with moving casements in a bow window setup. Or would this be the one time you are better off using double panes so you don't lose the tight seals of a newly installed window in a few years?

Re: Thermal Industries Legance Vs. Sunrise Essentials
I have two sliding doors from thermal industries that were installed in 1999. They are still in use today and seem to be well made. The vinyl is attractive and easy to clean. Mine has low E with argon gas. They have been very reliable doors for 17 years now. Slide easily and seem to be OK in the ene...

Re: Who Makes A Good Bow Window
So do Okna and Sunrise use wood on the insides for the seat and top part, and the interior framing between windows lites? Is wood interior the norm, or is vinyl more usual now for low maintenance reasons (although I wonder how nice looking a vinyl seat, top etc. would be).

Who Makes A Good Bow Window
Who makes a good high end bow window using casement windows. I am considering replacing mine with either a 4 or 5 lite casement. My current one is only 4 lites and doesn't protrude very much past the wall line....I am really unsure about how this works and how far out it would have to protrude if I ...

Would A Bow Window Seem Odd If...
Would A Bow Window Seem Odd To You If it consisted of 5 lite panels and instead of the far end panels opening (lets call them panels #1 and #5) you have the #2 and #4 lites being the ones that open? Would it look funny somehow either from the inside or outside? Is it a design or structural no-no for...

Re: OKNA 800DX Triple Pane Double Hung- Initial Impressions
I think my rooms are actually a quieter with the new triple pane windows. I know conventional thinking is that triple pane doesn't add much sound proofing, and I live in a relatively quiet location to begin with, but I really do think it is quieter .

Re: OKNA 800DX Triple Pane Double Hung- Initial Impressions
Rather than start a new topic I am going to post this here and hope that WOW sees it. Anyhow, about the primed wood that is along the insides of the windows, I was thinking about putting a minwax polyurethane clear coat overtop of it for added protection, maybe add some gloss too. I like that it is ...

OKNA 800DX Triple Pane Double Hung- Initial Impressions
The WOW team installed my windows today. :D They even arrived a little early (no problem to me) despite my rather outlier location. To my untrained eyes they did an excellent job. Everything appears tight and sealed both outside and inside. The sashes are tight, I can't rattle them at all when they ...

Re: Does triple pane make sense?
The thing I am concerned about with triple panes is the VT, visible transmission stats. I worry they will be too dark looking in the house and make me think it is going to rain even when the sun shines. That would be very depressing especially in a long winter. I don't have real world experience, ju...
