Thanks. Can you tell me the advantages of that installation method?Windows on Washington wrote:Pretty easy to pull that 1x4 trim on the outside and hang a new nailing flange equip unit if you want to go that route as well.

Recommended Installation Method For Wood Window Replacement
Our old wood windows are way overdue to be replaced so we're close to making a decision on replacing them. I believe they are Oldach wood windows. I told the installers that I want the entire wood frame removed since it's in such bad shape. So I believe this makes it a full frame replacement rather ...

Re: Windows In Colorado Springs @ 7000ft altitude
I don't have much of a preference on materials yet. I'm open to the advice of the experts there. One thing that is important to me is low maintenance. I don't want to have to paint them and I don't want white, so I'm hoping I can get vinyl or fiberglass that is already colored. I don't want wood sin...

We need to replace our old crappy, warped, worn out single pane wood windows. Our house is in Colorado Springs, Colorado at an elevation of 7000ft. I've been doing tons of reading here and on the sister board and am almost ready to start getting quotes. The front of my house faces NE so it only gets...

Re: Should I stucco or replace windows first?
Windows, with new construction flanges, flashing, and drip caps, would go first in this case. Be sure that you have all the drainage details correct and have you installer include closed corner drip caps. Thanks for the reply WoW. I'm resuming this project now. I'm not familiar with most of the ter...

Should I stucco or replace windows first?
We need to replace our windows, but we would also like to stucco our house. It currently has siding, so we'll be adding stucco. Would you recommend replacing the windows or adding stucco first? Or does it not matter which order it's done in? My initial thought would be to do the windows first so tha...
