I should mention that Lindsay Window's web page is also out of date. For example if you go there you will read that they use the swiggle spacer, when in fact they upgraded to the super spacer a couple of years ago. The window I saw from them appeared to be very competitive with the Simonton 6500 sol...

Re: How funny!
So Bombadil.......what window company do you work for, or own, that is obviously getting whipped up on by Window World. C'mon, just tell us. You have done a great job of trying to convince everyone here that Window World is inferior... What thread have you been reading Sadhar?? Bombadil has done no...

Re: Reply
Fenex, I recognize that you owe me nothing. Thus you are within your rights to take an insulting tone with me, even if I don't appreciate it much. You question my sincerety by making a condescending comment like "Bombadil... it you are ready to do this instead of typing about it". It is qu...

since he has taken everyones advise and constructively used it in the past. i would suggest getting at least 12-18 more estimates. dammit i know that window is out there!!!!!!! oh yeah, i still have not found that car that rides like a cadillac, has the power of a hemi, the handling of a porsche, g...

I have made no buying decision. I found their comments about not needing anything above the Excalibur in Wisconsin to be very amusing. That's why I passed them along. The reason why I am still checking them out is not because they are $20, or $40, or even $100 a window less, but they are $270 a wind...

What's Up with That???
I'll add that the WW floor rep, who really didn't know much about the windows and referred me to their primary salesperson for more info, made their standard pitch of recommending the 4000/Excalibur window over the 6000/(Sheffield?). This is my 2nd contact with WW and both times they told me that th...

New Info on WW windows
Daring to reopen this contentious thread ... I just happened to be in the neighborhood of my local Window World, so I decided to swing in and take a look at their floor window displays. Their window info web pages are identical to Alside's pages, indeed they look to be direct copies of Alside's page...

I know there's a million brands out there, and I'm just trying to find the best quality window in my price range: around $400 per window (double hung) installed. I've been trying to find the same thing for 3 months now and haven't even come close to success. Only quotes I've gotten for under $500/w...

Given that I have posted multiple messages in this very thread in which I have questioned the quality of both WW's installation and several Alside windows, your last response must not have been targeted at me. In fact, I don't believe I've ever stated a positive comment about the quality of WW's ins...

Okay, I was able to speak to a guy who has been installing Alside windows for several (>10) years. He seemed very knowledgable about those windows and here is what he told me about the Ultramaxx vs the Sheffield. It is his take that these two windows are about 95% the same. They use the same sides, ...
