After a lot of research and several estimates from contractors in Fort Myers, Florida, I have narrowed down my search for impact resistant, energy efficient double hung windows to Gorell and PGT Premiervue. Any input of whether one is better than the other?
It seems to be a general consensus that PGT Wingard is junk but I heard that Premiervue is a well built window.

Are these coastal windows? Either way the Gorell is the better choice.

The wind speed in Ft Myers is 130 MPH. Wind zone 3 missile level 'D' if I am not mistaken for impact rated product.
Not real familiar with PGT, but the Gorell product would be a good choice.

Don't know who's consensus thinks winguard is "junk", and I'm not going to get into that...
I'd take a PGT Premier over Gorell. Not for performance, becuase I think both perform on the same level, but for appearance/athstetics.
And before anyone jumps me about that, I have a Gorell in my shop and just installed a premier so I've seen both of them up front.
