Skylight Hurricane certification
Skylight Hurricane certification
Do small home sunroom shy lights, 20 in X 54 in, using PPG Herculite K Tempered Safety Glass meet Miami Dade Hurricane certifications? I do not know what brand skylight I have. My home owner insurance is about to be substantially increased unless I can produce such certification. The PPG double paned information is all I have.

You'll need to get the brand of skylight and then look it up either on the skylight company's website or the Dade county website.

I am sure that you net to have laminated glass to meet the specs.
Depending on the mfg, you may be able to reglaze them or possible film them to qualify.

Did some research for ya.
Tempered only will not meet spec.
Even laminated with .30 will not pass.
So it has to be laminated with .90 to pass.
You still might be able to reglaze the unit.
