The Architect series window from Pella is more beautiful than others, has an aluminum clad frame which is maintenece free in 27 colors, and a wood interior that is treated with enduraguard that protects the wood from any rot mold or bug infultration. Lov the AS window from Pella, best value and great warranty...The service is always there if needed.
I paid what was fair... I believe you get what you pay for, and I am so happy that I didn't go with a cheep vinyl replacement or a cheeper fibrex window from Renweal

I had double hung Pella architectural series windows with interior and exterior applied mullions installed as replacements in a remodel in 2005. The windows cost about $1000 each installed and whatever extra I paid to have them painted. I expected an attractive window to replicate the apppearance of true divided lites with the efficiency and quality of a new Pella window. In about the last 1-2 years one window started condensating in the top half where the mullions are applied. I didn't feel like dealing with it, so I let slide. Now two more windows are doing the same thing. At this point I'm getting concerned. I called Pella to be informed that if this is a window failure (which it clearly is based on the randomness of the windows being effected and only occuring in the top half of the window), that the parts will be covered but I will pay for the service call and labor. At this point I'm not expecting this to be an inexpensive repair and am very dismayed at the prospect of paying MORE money for already very expensive windows that I will have to spend hours repainting myself. I will try to update repair costs when/if Pella comes to assess the problem. As an aside, when the windows were new, two had to have their lower units replaced due to poor sliding function. These I had already paid to have painted. No reimbursement or offer to paint them.

Don't think any of the failure has to do with installation as it occured 6-8 years later.
I paid about $1000 per double hung arch. series window installed by contracter. Wood interior/aluminum clad exterior with 6 divided lites on top, mullions applied int. and ext. I later got a quote from Pella for more of the same windows and they quoted $990 installed.

I spent over a $1000 for single windows for two bathrooms. They were suppose to be "custom" but the size was two inches or more too small in both length and width. As a result the wood trim around the window does not meet the tile on the wall. The rep tried to tell me it had to be the size it was because of the structure of the frame. The person who put the windows in has a degree in civil engineering and said that was crap. This was not a custom window and it has now costed a lot of additional cost to replace exterior siding and retiling inside. There is a string that is broken in between the panes of glass that the rep saw but after 6 months has done nothing to fix it. The wood of the window required a lot of sanding to get a smooth finish before staining. A previously installed window is already rotting. Pella produces overpriced, poor quality windows. Don't waste your money or time with this company. I could go on with issues I have had with thee cladding on their door and another model of Pella window.
I was charged for a custom window, but not provided a custom sized window. A $1000 per a small window is way too much.

Had 2 replaced before installation - glass warped. Have had 2 service calls because windows are so hard to crank shut. Hardware not strong enough to support window weight.
