Re: Changes to Starmark 900
I'd say more that I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place - I can't possibly see even half that in equity in my market. Yet I don't want to spend 15 or 20k on crappy windows. I'll check out the AW E Series and Pella A Series just to compare.

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
I went to a dealer and saw both the Elevate and ultimate. Really liked the ultimate, not so much the Elevate. I'm quoted basically 25k for 23 windows for Elevate and 39k for ultimate. Big difference from my 15k Starmark quote. I'll have a Marvin full line quote on Monday but I'm expecting something ...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
Was watching a few videos and reading a blog that has me all messed up over what to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vZZ_EMGseY this one had me thinking maybe I should opt for "full line" - is that the same as "ultimate"? for my downstairs front-facing windows, and the rear w...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
Fair enough. I'm leaning towards the Elevate at the moment. Waiting to hear how much a triple pane upgrade would cost but the double panes with SDL grids top only came out to about 1k each installed with white vinyl exterior and unfinished paintable interior. Not thrilled to hear about some performa...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
Yes unfortunately old Starmark *is* exactly what I want. In every way. So the Marvin Elevate is actually about the same price or a bit cheaper than the Endure (unfinished vs pre finished though). They don't do the SDL grid interiors in black so he suggested we do the painting... Marvin is at least ...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
Can I get objective thoughts on a December or January install vs a spring/fall install? My feeling is that the caulk won't cure properly below a certain temperature. Nor does spray foam behave. And installers will also be more rushed so to the cold air and shorter days. I'm liking the Elevate right ...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
From what I've seen Marvin makes the nicest looking product with a paintable interior. I asked my Aeris dealer to send quotes as they also sell Marvin. He didn't even send me the quote after he visited even though I asked for it, because he thought it would be out of range (we felt the Aeris was too...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
I think my wife would prefer a black interior right now, and assuming we could not paint it that would be my first choice for non-paintable. For outdoor just white. I'm not excited to hear mention of thin wood laminate, old school jamb liners, nor high air infiltration numbers. That's kind of why I'...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
So, thoughts on comparison of quality of Provia Aeris vs Starmark? My reading suggests that Provia makes a better door than window. Is there a better quality and performing window with paintable interior? I want something that would have ROI and be appealing to a buyer in the future (although we hav...

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
The bubble will have to break and at these rates I'm not even able to recoup through either energy savings nor equity value increase in my market.

Re: Changes to Starmark 900
Wood grain laminate looks tacky to us. IMO, there is no high end laminate. It just looks like fake wood to us. And no, there is no wood trim that reasonably matches it in my eyes. That's just my opinion on it. We actually would prefer a black interior at the moment. Which Starmark doesn't even offer...
