Re: okna 500dx vs Softlite Imperial Elite
I went with the Okna for $850. Didn't think it would matter to me but slightly more glass and better looking window. Also, I'm in MA the Okna guy 30 miles away in Southern NH Softlite guy 60 miles away Southern MA. I prefer the installer is closer in case something goes wrong and I have to drive up ...

okna 500dx vs Softlite Imperial Elite
Got a Softlite Imperial Elite bid $890 per window. Only SL installer besides Zen in my area, 4.9 star reviews no salesman push. Received an Okna 500 bid haggled and got them to match the $890. 4.9 star reviews also (and gave me a list of jobs they've done with addresses and such.) Put down a deposit...

Windows on Washington wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 7:16 pm Never seen it as an issue. Heat of deformation is over 160 degrees. That is pretty darn hot. If you don't want that heat hitting it, get a deflector of some sort.

Radiators
Will the heat from a Radiator directly under a vinyl window cause any issues with the vinyl? Maybe the stoop deflects the heat enough? Has anyone ever seen this become an issue??

Re: Weight Pockets
Meh. I would just use the batts and make sure the window is sealed to the window frame. The reality is that you are only impacting the air tightness in that one stud bay and I have seen foam continue to cure and ooze after installation in the case of large void spaces. That's what I was thinking. T...

Weight Pockets
Best way to insulate weight pockets? I've heard prices from $25-50 per window using batt. Was quoted flat $1600 fee to insulate 14 windows with low expansion foam. Does anyone use cellulose or anything else that is blown in? I'm assuming the foam is the most efficient, but can't see myself paying $1...
