Re: installation screening
Shouldn't I insist expanding foam is used b/w the brick and the wall? Or is something else acceptable?

Re: installation screening
Thanks. What is capping? Is that the same as wrapping? If so, what exactly does this mean? And how does this differ from trim? I get confused about how the outside is finished.
What type of trim coil and caulk should I be looking for them to use?

Replacing 20 windows w/ vinyl DHs and I want to be sure I really screen the dealers regarding their installation process. I'm in Cincinnati, all brick home. What do I need to cover to be sure the windows are installed and finished the right way? I talking about inquiring about specific steps in the ...

Re: question about mil thickness, glass loss and performance
Thanks. Do you think, based on those dimensions, that I am correct in looking for something a little less thick? I'd rather not be restricted by this but I'm afraid if I don't prioritize this the windows may look odd.

question about mil thickness, glass loss and performance
Several of the DHs I'm going to replace are slimmer windows (69 L x 30 W and 49 L x 31 W). With a window like that, I would think it would be a good idea to look for a less bulky window to maximize glass correct? What kind of mil thickness should I be looking for? By doing this, how much am I sacrif...

Vinyl Replacement Battle Royale
I'm replacing 20 DH windows. I'm trying to decide how many dealers to bring in. I'm scheduling 3 and trying to decide if I should schedule a 4th. Here are the window brands they sell. Would you suggest I not schedule to get a proposal on one of these brands b/c they don't measure up to the others? A...

Alside Ultramax upgraded by window company
I'm looking at a window company that has Alside manufacture an upgraded version of the Alside Ultramax to their own specs. I'm just getting started researching this so I don't know all the lingo but he said the wrap and frame are upgraded with foam insulation and they have super spacer technology wh...
