Thank you WOW for you response. You dont think the Vt will be too low with the SHGC hovering around 0.21. I guess there is alot of glass in this particular room, and heating season dominates especially this year.

Can anyone recomend/spec in the simonton 5500 series or 9800 with a high shgc. The local dealer is telling me U of .30 and SHGC 0.24 for double hung with top grid is as good as I can get.... Or another brand that would have the right vaules. Low U and High SHGC

So are we talking shgc numbers above .40 above 30? I have seen some windows that only go down to U of .28-.29 and shgc numbers.36-.40. Is that about the best out there without going over board on the $$. I guess that also rules out any R5 windows. it seems low u and low shgc numbers go hand in hand,...
