Re: What would cause nail flanges to seperate from windows?
If the windows are still in good condition and you have the siding removed, I would tape flash the exterior perimeter of the window and just use screws through the jambs as if it were a replacement application to secure the frames. The windows in brick I would secure in the same manner and try to in...

Re: Replace window or just the sash - MI Windows
I would make sure that you will be getting a complete sash and not just a replacement IG unit which would require being re-glazed into the existing sash frame. Do you know if you have a vinyl window? My guess is that it is if you are certain it is an MI window. If that is the case, rot is unlikely wit...

Re: Impressions and Reviews of Sunrise Windows
As Homesealed said, the vents should have adjustments at the hinges that would better square the vent in the frame and eliminate any dragging that may be causing the vent to not close tightly. Your pictures do show, in my opinion, that some of the glazing beads were not cut properly. It appears to be...

Re: Which 1" spacer should I have my window guy install?
If you are referring to 2 spacers being used to achieve a triple glazed glass unit as stacking, I am not aware of any other way. You can get a dual glazed 1" IG unti with just about any spacer type.

Re: Not Impressed With Sunrise Windows!!
Sorry to step on toes. The description of the problems was very vague and I found it interesting that from that description anything more than a guess could be made. Some of the responses seemed to have an absolute certainty that it could be nothing other than poor installation. I have also installe...

Re: Not Impressed With Sunrise Windows!!
Amazing how quickly you guys are to assume that it it is an installation problem without having looked at the install. I think that the correct advice is to have the installer and the Sunrise representative both inspect the window and installation together. Too many times a manufacturing problem get...

Re: Low E windows and Melting Siding
Newer Low-E coatings are more reflective and could amplify your problem. I have seen some IG units that are slighty concave and cause the siding to distort. This usually happens when the wall and window are perpendicular to each other, such as what I think you are describing. I know of one issue tha...
