Price is okay. I was thinking more like 750-800.

I would require that the unit above the bath tub is tempered.

Please clarify what material that you want the replacement windows to be constructed of.

Also, was the 1300 for the 3 windows complete?

Lastly, a poorly performing unit will loose a bunch of energy and why skimp on it when a well performing unit is not that much more expensive.

A bunch of manufacturers have plenty of wood laminates. Do your homework and you can easily find a window that fits your coloring criteria and budget.

Interior air humidity combined with a little cold air infiltration and edge of glass cold will probably cause the problem you are mentioning. The casements are inherently better sealing windows and there is little to no air coming in as compared to the double hungs. I would see if the problem lessen...

You should be able to avoid disturbing the trim and there are a myriad of interior laminates for vinyl and beige or American Brown are options as well.

Couple of things, as windowman mentioned, there are a bunch of good manufacturers of triple pane windows with Krypton/Argon. You need to shop that price because it is horrible. I would also stay away from a company that tries to scare you into their product. Fiberglass is a nice option, however, you...

Re: Milestone windows(advanced home tech.)

That looks rather expensive for what looks like pretty standard good triple pane windows.

Re: Your opinions, facts, and discussions are greatly

You should be happy with the Sheffield. You get a little less glass but a very sturdy extrusion. If it were me, I would run a reinforcing beam of steel or wood in the opening and the divide the window into equal, but smaller units. Especially if considering vinyl. The Sheffield mullion is not like a...

Lets be clear that I wasn't accusing anyone of trying to slander Alside or manipulate the truth in an effort to do so. I was asking the natural follow up question about Low-e. Great, we have established the presence of Low-e argon. Thank you for clarifying what I know to be true. When I was talking ...

Lets compare apples to apples so that I do not appear to be blindly brand loyal. Your idea of not that cold outside in Chicago and the temperature differentials that he would experience in Dallas are worlds apart. True the higher end models do have CRF's in the mid 50's for the dual pane units with ...

I would have to look at the install to see if the 3rd floor designation is an issue but even with a metal removal, $400 should cover your expense in this area.

Are we talking about a steel buck frame or just a metal window? Steel buck frame requires the installation of interior trim and sills. If you just have a metal window and already have all the interior casing and sills, no way would I ever leave that frame in. Like the guys said, you just need to kno...
