Re: Replacement Windows for Historic District House

You will be able to find several mfg who will make that size, but as noted above a special quote.

Does the histerical ~. mean that you can not do an insert style, which is actually smaller than the original prime unit???

Re: Azek Trimboard

A friend of mine uses white silconized latex, DAP plus.
Cut a small tip, fill whole to excess, let dry 24 hours, shave off excess with new utility or razor blade.

Re: Slider Door with Half Round

Pella has about 20 exterior clad regular offerings and will do any color you give them. Through the PSDN you can get over 3000 interior colors. In fiberglass they offer only the three colors you mention. With InLine fiberglass you have five standard colors and they will do any color and split finish...

Re: Slider Door with Half Round

I have two projects that are similar to your specs. The one thing that you are going to have to bend on is budget. What you want and describe is exspensive. I am using pella for both of my projects. The first is 2 6' french sliders with half round transoms, the doors are TP and the transom is DP. Yo...

You could also use masonery clips as an install method.

Re: wrapping pella replacement windows

If I can I do a 5/16 x 5/16 hem , cut to fit, then back caulk the hem before insrting into groove, normally no nails needed.
Baby once that silicone sets up you can hardly remove that coil if you want to.

Re: Replacement windows not shimmed

I would agree that following the manufacters guidelines are best. There are many times when we do things and types of installs not covered by those "guidelines". To date in 30 years I have only had one window judged misinstalled. Not lucky, just skilled. But I do suggest we all do it right...
