Thermal Industries question

A local company has started selling this brand of windows. I am curious about one of the features about these windows. The window does not have release tabs to tilt the window, you just grab the window and pull on it. Would wear over time by popping that in and out cause play in the window on the si...

This is not a request these companies outright insist and so far every one that has insisted that both spouses be there and has come to my house have done the high pressure sales pitch. Not only that they are the types you just about have to physically remove from your house. As previously stated it...

New England Sash

A person where I work was telling about his experience with this company. He saw them (New England Sash) at a Home Show and left his name and number to wait to be contacted. He heard back over a month later, the woman said she had a Thursday appointment at 6:00 so he said he would take it. She asked...

I never thought about having them closed in the rain, thanks for the comment. One other issue I just realized is that my opening is 34 1/2 wide so I guess I would need a double casement. I saw a double on a house yesterday and they were very small width wise and I think in my situation it would be a...

I do not sell or manufacture windows. I have seen a lot of different windows since I started looking. What happened was that I expeienced a lot of frustration from the 2 different companies that came to my house selling the window that I wanted and without getting into all the details again I did no...

I have not heard of them before. A dealer recently called me to ask if they could show me the new Great Lakes Plygem Lifestyle and Bayshore and never mentioned the model you ask about.

Window sales samples

Do they use blemished or reject windows for sales samples or are they the same quality as what would be put in a house?

Concerns

I went to a contractor supply company this morning and looked at some different brand windows. I looked at them very closely and I will not mention the brands but will explain a few things I did not like. When raising the bottom half of the window all the way up it springs back down probably an inch...

I have not had trouble with them, in fact I am not aware of if I ever had them anywhere I have lived. It seems like an older technology and one window person who came to my home selling a window with swiggle spacer had stated that they changed to a darker color of the material so it was not as easy ...

Certainteed uses swiggle spacer in some areas of the states. I don!t know how much of an issues that would be. Also it seems that different companies make their windows for them which seems could create a possibility of different levels of consistency. I like their window very much but I live in the...

Nfrc ratings

You go into the ratings and there are different versions of the same window whether it be double or triple pane. Even within argon or krypton even if you eliminate grids there are still different nimbers on the end with different gaps or internal film surface. How do you determine which window appli...

Window installation

When measuring for a replacement window how much space is allowed between the size of the window and the existing hole? Is it important to have a certain amount of space to allow for install?

Thanks
