Windowmann You are welcome Sir. I might even suggest presenting your interest in excellence in your marketing as you are taking a step above most of your competitors to insure a better result... even if it means a slightly additional cost of labor and materials (insignificant $). Too many of "U...

Good point Windowrep... why do it if it's not required, even if it is considered best practice by ALL of the leading industry authorities involved in efficiency and sustainability.

The manufacturers care about their product, not the overall solutions in a home. This is a BIG part of the problem!

"I think FenEx likes to split the atom."

Not at all. But I spend 60-70 hours a week trying to create a split between "Industry contractors" and Industry Professionals that actually earn recognition as "Professionals".

No... Sill seal is made as a product to shove under wall sill plates... that works horribly even there... but why not use it elsewhere... it's in a convenient size... and it's considered "insulation" by name. Melbb, you have enough info to make an educated decision here. Obviously, Windowm...

That article was Feb, 07... the Editor also did the Editorial on us as well. In my opinion... the Feldco products are mid-line at their very best. The Gerbil's ability to produce revolutions depends on the specific gerbil's muscle mass and prior conditioning. Allowing them to watch Oprah and 24 seem...

Windowrep: "I think the bottom line is just to insulate whether you use foam or fiberglass." You are making my point about just using something that's called "insulation". It's not the same, using fiberglass in this way does not insulate, nor does it effectively airseal. Why do y...

With the BEST possible scenario, and a PERFECT install... I'd rate them both at a 5 on my scale of 10. Did you not get this from all of the other responses???.. or are you just hoping for a different answer? Both are slightly better than builders grade products.... but neither is a great performer o...

I would totally disagree with any use of fiberglass as an insulator or airseal around windows or doors... because it's neither when used like this. Do not make the mistake that many contractors do by confusing a product's name "insulation" with it's eventual function. The only part of fibe...

I won't sell Schuco's here for that price because of the circle tops. I'd probably be around 20-25% higher.. but then we are talking about a completely different grade of products that are far superior in aesthetics, performance and quality. If that's the set price range, I'd still recommend steerin...
