I understand your displeasure. It is horrible to have problems on what you thought were to be some of the best windows. When you bought the windows, what did you think of the warranty. Did they make you think it would be covered after that time period? Wood windows have come a long way in the past f...

I do not think caomparing the Polybau and Anlin to the Milgard or Certainteed is quite real. They both cater to different markets and have differnt specialties. Anlin and Polybau seem to channel their efforts in the replacement market and make a superior window for that application. Milgard takes th...

I am not usually a big fan of the small manufacturing companies becuase they can come and go, or change names to avoid warranty. Two in our area are ones I take excption to. Polybau and Anlin. Both are strong companies that utilize the latest technology, (Hint: to avoid warranty claims) and make a g...

FenEx, just catching up on the posts over the weekend. I noticed you said that Marvin stopped producing their own IG to cut costs. Cardinal is one of the most expensive IG systems to buy out. For a manufacturer, it will cost about 1.5 times the amount of running your own intercept line. Many compani...

Cannot Post message too soon after another

Why do you have the settings to limit the time between posts? Can you shorten the limit or remove the time limit? Is it to keep spammers off?

For dealers in your area, Arganuat windows is my choice followed by Able glass. As for window brands, if you are comfortable withe the Polybau price, I would also take a close look at the Anlin window. Both are fairly local manufacturing. One is made in clovins (anlin) and the other in Tracy.

JScott,

Who was your level III trainer at Jeld-Wen. I will see if I can get clarifiaciton from our west coast rep. Sounds too high. Even if it were a dark color such as Almond, a 1/2" seems high.

Well, who is Anderson in competition with? Which companies have been out buying other companies? From a business stand point, it was a brilliant business move. They sell 100's of millions of windows through the Home Depot all over the country. Silver line sell 100's of millions of wndows through the...

In 2002, Anlin lost did not get their contract renewed with Certainteed. Certainteed decided they could make more money running everything on their own. They opened a new plant in West Sace right off of 80 before you cross the Sacramento river on the Southside. IT is about 300K square feet and is ab...

Different strokes for different folks. Thats what makes the world go round. If money is an issue, go by a Thermastar retrofit from Lowe's and isntall it yourself. Takes about 2 hours to do. If you want a really good window with a great install, it will cost a lot more. I am an Acura guy. Honda reali...

I agree with InfoSponge. Cost to savings might not be there for you. Thermastar is made by Pella, so you have a good company to back the product if it goes bad and Lowes is subbing the install if something goes bad. Should be a bit of piece of mind. I do not know the Denver area market will enough, ...

Wow, I missed all the fun posting over the holiday. If amore125 works for Homeworks, are are his initials to his, or her name. Hmmm. I sold a lot of windows to them in the 90's. I might not like the product they sell, but they are a great company and a force to recon with in the northern Cali market.
