Replacement windows in Florida
Replacement windows in Florida
I have 9 DH windows and a patio door. I have three quotes so far. More than half of my windows get direct sunlight for most of the day. Should I be looking at triple pane or would double pane be good? I have the triple pane quotes:
Company 1 - Alside Mezzo TG2E - $9600
Company 2 - Alside Preservation - $10200
Company 3 - Simonton Reflections 5000 - $9700
The 4th one I had was for Simonton as well, but higher. I did not know Preservation was Alside until last night from these posts.

Can I say none of the above? What about the higher end Simonton like the 5500?

I think Soft Lite Windows are available in Florida, that will be your best bet.
Re: Replacement windows in Florida
Sorry, it was late last night when I posted. It is the Simonton Reflections 5500 series. Or as the aboved mentioned look towards another brand of window?
Soft-lite is not in the northeast part of Fl. Orlando area is the closest (2.5 hrs away). OKNA windows are not available in FL. Does anyone know of a comparable window to Soft-Lite in the Jacksonville area?

In that comparison, while a bit bulky, the Simonton 5500 is the better product in my historical observation.
Not a huge fan of the air numbers in it, but in Florida, the heat is the bigger issue as compared to up North.

Re: Replacement windows in Florida
If I was able to find a company which would install OKNA or Soft-Lite windows, which brand and style should I look for? And would pricing be somewhat comparable to what I was quoted for the other three?

Either or would be a great option if you can find them in Florida. Pretty sure Soft-Lite is all over down there. Not sure about Okna.
Re: Replacement windows in Florida
OKNA said they do not have any dealers in FL. I am asking a couple of companies which say they can get any window. Which has me asking what would be a good window design of OKNA and Soft Lite?

Soft-Lite Imperial LS or Elements are the operators that I would stay with.
