I know that window units have been filled with air, and exotic gases like argon, krypton, and xenon. Kind of wonder why they never put a vacuum in there - wouldn't that be the best insulator? Anyway a salesman came out here the other night. Says that his company has developed a new type of filler gas. Better insulator, cheaper to get this gas, can tell thru smell if there has been any seal breakage. Only bad side effects is that I think it makes the window more susceptible to wind breakage, and probably has a noise side effect. Uranus gas. Do you think the salesman was full of BS or was it just his windows?
New type of filler gas?

New gas
Anyone happen to know the name of the largest moon orbiting Uranus?
And nothing new about that gas. According to my wife I have been producing it for years.
And on a bit more serious note, a vacuum between two lites would indeed be the very best sort of insulator. Unfortunately, the window would collapse fromt he pressure (or lack of!).
