Part Identification and Detached Sash Lock on Vertical Sliding Window

#1 Post by Spiniker »

Hello,

The parts of my of my vertical sliding window to which the sash lock attaches appear to have broken free from the rest of the window and I would greatly appreciate assistance figuring out their part names and repair options. The 'narrow rail' (which abuts the window pane) to which the keeper was screwed likely fell off because the screws rusted. However, the 'wider rail' to which the cam side of the lock was installed does not appear to have any screws keeping it attached to the rest of the window, so I'm unsure of what normally keeps it in place.

When the window is opened the wide rail gets pushed upwards, but when the window is closed the wide rail doesn't close with it(it gets left behind unless manually brought back down).

I will attach some photos of the parts below. The first photo is what this make/model of window look like when it isn't broken (just for reference).

Thanks in advance!

Tap it back in, use larger screws on the locks to go into the vinyl a bit wider. Don't lift by the top of the rail.
