OKNA 800 ENVIRO STAR VS SUNRISE RESTORATION

We are down to two companies, one selling the OKNA 800 and the other selling the SUNRISE RESTORATION. We live outside Milwaukee, WI. Our home was built in 1994, we have 25 windows.

Looking at both online reviews the windows seem to be very similar. Both getting good reviews. We went into the local showrooms on Monday to really look at them. The SUNRISE RESTORATIONS floor salesperson was very informed and a seasoned salesman. We also had an extra amount off if we signed before midnight. We had been at the Home Show and the promotion was ending that day. We went to look at the OKNA window then. We did like the look of the SUNRISE window due to no hardware for opening and closing.

The total for the 25 OKNA windows was 38,496. The Sunrise Restoration windows came to 45,908. We signed at the last hour with a contingency, and also a 3 day cancelation clause.

The next day I came home and had a message from the company with the OKNA windows that we were the Grand Prize winner of 7 OKNA500 windows. We had entered at the Home Show. Our salesperson then adjusted our initial quote to show the savings of those 7 windows. Now our quote was 31,604. Now the difference is over 14,000. A lot for a family of 10.

We have placed a hold/cancel on our contract and notified the company of this and that we really need more time to think this through.

Any insight comparing the two. The larger quote is an established company of 30 years and a overall rating of 4.5 to 4.6. The OKNA window distributer, is a smaller company in business for over 16 year and has a rating of 4.9.

Both are nice but the Okna 800 is stronger and will get the nod in performance/ efficiency.

Thats great that you won some free windows! Are they able to convert those free ones to the 800 series. Sounds like that deal is to good to pass up. You're comparing to great products but that price spread makes it an easy decision in my opinion.

I don't understand how this is a question? What am I missing here? If you are outside of Milwaukee, you must be dealing with Homesealed, they aren't a small company and they come highly recommended. I've seen them on top 500 lists for years.

Better window, better reputation, and a huge discount, decisions don't get easier. Did the sales guy walk in, insult you, clog your toilet, and whip you the bird as he drove off? Even if he did, I probably still have to take that deal!

Won't find a better shop than the folks at HomeSealed.

You’d have to be really in love with Sunrise to take it over the Okna at that price. Homesealed is a top notch and that 4.9 rating is no accident . The contingency is BS and not a good way to conduct business IMO. Okna is leader in performance numbers and Homesealed has a history more than the 16 years, and has a business that is set for the future.
