SE Pennsylvania farmhouse replacement windows and installer

#1 Post by Coffeewithmycats »

Hello,
I’m looking to replace the old Andersen windows in my 100 year old farm house.
I’ve received quotes for vinyl replacements (Provia Endure and Sunrise v4000). I wasn’t pleased with the Provia sales guy, and it seems that in general Sunrise is a decent brand but any thoughts on how much better Sunrise restoration is than the v4000? I was confused as to why the sales guy only mentioned this one line and not the higher end line.

Knowing the installer is just as important a choice, any recommendations for installers in the Philly suburb area (Bucks County)?

Lastly what specs should I be targeting for my area? U factor, air infiltration, PG etc?

Thank you!
Jen

the v4000 is the sunrise vanguard( I think ) which is a very good window.

Many manufacturers have different product lines and don't always allow dealers to have full access to every model as they have dealers in the same territories that cross paths. For an example, we do the Vanguard series which is now that model, and I don't have the Restoration line which is reserved for either a high volume dealer that would be the only vinyl product that they typically would sell. If I asked to upgrade from the V to the R series, I'd have to knock down my OKNA sales which I'm not going to do.

One gets more internal extrusion reinforcement with the Restorations and Duo-Tech locks over the Vanguard, but basically that's it. Both are very nice windows. By the way, you're right in the Windownerd's backyard who is a longtime contributor on the boards.

You have some long time poster and quality contractor options right here on the board. I would reach out to those guys first.
