I maybe opening a can of worms here but, a local hardware store sells Marquee series 800 windows relatively cheap. about 110 for a 31" x 36" window I'm looking for (new construction). Roughly 28" x 36" size in a Simonton ProFinish Contractor from another guy is 156 (I haven't gotten any other quotes on the Simonton locally yet). Are the Simonton's worth the extra money, or should I be researching other brands as well? Looking for a good functioning window in Northern NY for a house I'll probably hold onto for a couple more years.
Marquee Windows are very well built. They are one of the better values in the business. They just came out with a true replacement window with a self locking latch, called the 8000 series.
Simonton makes a nice window, but you are paying the 1 week turnaround. Marquee is comparable, but you will wait 2 weeks versus 1 week.
