need help with installer in Detroit, MI area

#1 Post by ec@mi »

Can anybody suggest a good installer for the Detroit area?
I have a quote from Hansons (they highly recommended by a friend) for Alside UltraMax windows with the IQ glass. 13 windows and 1 patio/sliding door for around $10800.
I was told that IQ glass is comparable to Alside Climatech Plus with Tempered glass option.

So far I like their lifetime guarantee of the windows and workmanship -- plus my friend can not stop saying good thing about them :)
But my search on the internet and this site seems to indicate otherwise.

Also on the windows option, in the past I have been researching Simonton Impression and 5500 extensively but can not really find a good installer for the area.

any suggestion of a better installation with good after installation service?

all are double-pane tempered glass

one more thing, is it true that in-blind option will render a window not eligible for the tax credui?

thanks for the help.
