Certainteed is not Certainteed
The Certainteed brand name that has been around since 1904 built its reputation by making a variety of home products that Contractors could trust. It sold its window division to MI-metal industries but allowed MI to keep the Certainteed name that so many of us have come to trust for an unknown period of time. I have promoted the Certainteed Bryn -Mar with a believe that it was backed by a very reputable company and now know that it is not that same company but has the same name. It seems a bit deceptive to me as I try to explain this to a Customer that is trying to find the Certainteed brand on the NFRC directory and calls to find out that its only the brand name that is represented. I cannot guess how this will turn out but I feel the public should at least know what the truth is about the Certainteed replacement window that is no longer made by Certainteed and no information is available about the product transition to MI
