Andersen woodwright 400 series

#1 Post by edru »

Thinking of replacing all windows with Andersen woodwright series 400 as opposed to Andersen Renewal.
Any comments appreciated.

The 400 is a much better value, but they only make inserts in DH's. RBA is all marketing and no substance IMO.

Woodwright and 400 series tilt wash both have their strengths and weaknesses.
Woodwright
>Top of the line as far as cost
>availiable as incert or full frame replacment
>easy to operate tilt feature
>Very handsome window, clean jambs

400 series tilt wash
>Availiable as full frame and built to fit
>Somewhat difficult tilt feature, requires spreader bar for top sash
>Reasonable pricing

I have no first hand experience with Andersen Renewal, but the buzz is not good.

Woodright's have worked fine for my customers. No complaints.
