The windows installer we're using offers Alpine and Milgard windows. The price he's giving us for the Alpines is about 10 percent cheaper, and the contractor says they're the same quality. I've called some local windows companies, and they don't think much of Alpine. I've also Googled Alpine: there isn't much info on them, and it's mostly a few years old, but what there is seems to somewhat negative.
Anyone have any recent experience? Maybe the brand is better now? Any reason to choose Milgard?
