Simonton 5500 reflections vs prism platinum
can anybody please explain the differences between the reflections 5500 window vs the prism platinum in the simonton line. we had pretty much decided on the 5500 (loE glass, argon, double strength glass, foam wrap, super spacer) and our dist mentioned the prism platinum line. these windows seem more alike than different. is the prism line a step up from the platinum (seems to have 7/8 ig unit, double strength glass, loE and argon all standard)??? thanks in advance.

Prism is the line Platinum is the window, you have the:
Prism Bronze (good)
Prism Ultra Gold (better)
Prism Platinum (best)
They are all the Prism line made by Simonton like the Corvette and the Impala are both in the Chevy line made by GM
The Platinum and the Reflections 5500 are basically the same where you see a difference is in their standard form where the Platinum has 7/8†insulated glass w/ low-e sc/argon and the 5500 has ¾†insulated w/ low-e/argon. When you add Super Spacer as you have they both go to 1†double Strength insulated with low-e sc/argon (now they are the same)
Simonton’s best window is the Impressions 9800 and I explained the differences to the above in an earlier post.
